From the President

Dear Members of the Westchester County Bar Association,

The Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Westchester County Bar Association are proposing a Revision and Restatement of the Association’s By-Laws.  The proposed Revision and Restatement is intended to modernize the By-Laws to be reflective of the expanding nature of our law practices not only in subject matters practiced but in geographical areas covered and the expanding modes of communication we employ.  The Revision and Restatement seeks to expand the pool of attorneys, related professionals and law students who may become members and to streamline the membership process.  It also seeks to increase the leadership opportunities within the Association by applying the same term limit on the Chair and Co-Chairs of the Association’s Sections to the Chairs and Co-Chairs of the Association’s Committees.

The proposed Revision and Restatement of the Association’s By-Laws will be voted on by the Association’s members at the Annual Meeting and Past President’s Dinner on March 7, 2018 at the Fountainhead, 55 Quaker Ridge Road, New Rochelle, NY.  At this same dinner, we will present Past President Richard M. Gardella, Esq. with the Association’s James D. Hopkins Lifetime Achievement Award.  I look forward to seeing you there.

Link to Proxy Form:

If you are unable to attend in person on March 7, 2018, you may vote on the Revision and Restatement and the slate of Officers, Directors and Nominating Committee Members by completing and returning the Proxy form (it will only take a few moments of your time).  Your participation is important to the Westchester County Bar Association and very much appreciated.

I am indebted to Immediate Past President Kelly Welch and Past President Dawn Kirby, whose extraordinary dedication of time, labor and vision, made possible the proposed Revision and Restatement of the Association’s By-Laws.

Very truly yours,
Stephanie L. Burns, President
Westchester County Bar Association
