In many cases, guardians manage the personal and financial matters of a person that cannot do so for themselves. Leslie will discuss debt negotiation strategies for adult guardians caring for those unable to make ends meet. She will also cover the authorities that guardians can be given under New York’s Mental Hygiene Law, including paying bills for an incapacitated person, stopping financial abuse, and financial planning. Leslie will explain how to proceed as a caregiver when the person they’re caring for is experiencing financial stress and high amounts of debt, including the ins-and-outs of debt negotiation.
