Summary

The seminar is an introduction to irrevocable trusts. It will cover such topics as the definition of a trust, what are the components of and parties to irrevocable trusts, how to read a trust, tax traps and trust taxation. Practical examples will be given. Descriptions of certain types of trusts, such as Trusts for Minors, Special Needs Trusts, Self-Settled Asset Protection Trusts, Charitable Trusts, Marital Trusts and IRA Trusts, will be given. The discussion of IRA Trusts will include the implications of the Secure Act.
