From the Rockland County Bar Association:
"It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Paul Piperato, Rockland County Clerk, on May 6.  An exact cause of death has not been determined.
Paul Piperato was truly a 'man of the people,' and a talented and creative man known for his efficient running of the County Clerk’s Office.
Paul served on the Haverstraw Town Board before being elected as County Clerk in 2005.
Paul leaves behind his wife Flora, and three daughters, Nicole, Jamie and Danielle, and brother John Piperato.
Paul leaves behind a legacy of true public service, friendliness, resourcefulness and professionalism.  He will be sorely missed by us all."

Congratulations to our new Board Officers and Directors! The virtual "Swearing In" Ceremony can be found below:

Memo from the office of Chief Judge Janet DiFiore:
"In keeping with a 30-year Court of Appeals’ tradition, Chief Judge Janet DiFiore today joins New York State Attorney General Letitia James and New York State Bar Association President Henry Greenberg in commemorating Law Day and celebrating our nation’s commitment to the rule of law.  As we continue to navigate these extraordinary times, we are celebrating Law Day virtually rather than in-person, with separately recorded messages from each participant.  In keeping with tradition, our ceremony kicks off with the Pledge of Allegiance, led by New York City Criminal Court Senior Court Clerk Regan Williams, and our national anthem, sung by New York State Court Officer Sergeant Jessica Hernandez of Bronx County Supreme Court, Criminal Term -- both of whom were recorded in front of the iconic New York County courthouse in lower Manhattan.
This year’s Law Day theme, “Your Vote, Your Voice, Our Democracy: the 19th Amendment at 100,” calls for reflection on the historic movement that expanded the right to vote to women. It also underscores the importance of the right to vote and the commitment on the part of the legal profession to ensure that, amid the pandemic, all Americans can safely cast their vote this year."
