Adult Guardianship Committee

The purpose of the Guardianship Committee is to provide a forum to disseminate information and discuss substantive and procedural issues in the guardianship field, including overview of the Article 81 guardianship process, determining if a person is in need of a guardian, rights of the PING, legal duties and responsibilities of the guardian, and reporting requirements of the guardian.  The Committee intends to provide the required training for appointed guardians and attorneys, and also for lay people wishing to act as court evaluators or court-appointed attorneys in guardianship matters.  In furtherance of its goals, the Committee intends to provide continuing legal education programs.
